2020 AGM DEFERRED/DIVIDEND NOTICE
Thursday, December, 17th, 2020 in News
St Colmcille’s Kells Credit Union Ltd would like to inform its Members that
due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in adherence to public health
guidelines, it will not be possible to hold our Annual General Meeting in
December as is traditionally the case.
At present, the Government has approved the General Scheme of a Credit
Union Bill which will allow credit unions to host virtual AGMs and to provide
for different options around voting in the absence of a physical meeting. This
scheme also permits the delay of hosting AGM’s relating to financial year-end
September 2020 until the end of April 2021.
The credit union is monitoring the passage of this bill closely. As a result, we
will be deferring our AGM until the New Year, with a date to be confirmed.
Depending on the public health guidelines at the time, the AGM will be held in
person, if it is safe to do so, otherwise, it may be the virtual option.
Once a date and format has been decided, members will be informed.
Unfortunately, given the challenging circumstances this unprecedented year
has brought and in recognising the recommendations of the Central Bank
of Ireland St Colmcille’s Kells Credit Union Ltd is disappointed to inform our
members that we are unable to pay a Dividend on Shares held or an Interest
Rebate on Loans this year.
We thank you for your understanding at this time and for your support as
Please continue to stay safe and feel free to contact the Credit Union if you
would like any clarity or further information.
